If you’re in Boston Common any night between April 30 and May 15, be sure to take a peek at the Little Building.

A new projection mapping program, Emerson Graduates: Moving Portraits, will illuminate LB’s facade with images of Class of 2020 and 2021 graduates. The video portraits feature 27 graduates from every Emerson major next to their handwritten signature — just as they’re about to leave their signature on the world.

The projection ends by zooming out to show images of thousands of students, which morphs into a special message.

Emerson Graduates will be viewable each evening between 9:00-11:00 pm from Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2. The projection will be visible between 9:00 pm and 2:00 am from Monday, May 3, through Sunday, May 15.

For those who can’t be there in person, a recording of the display will be available on the College’s YouTube channel, starting Saturday, May 1.

Last spring, after commencement activities for the Class of 2020 were cancelled due to the pandemic, the College illuminated the Little Building with art messages of celebration in a projection called One Emerson.
