Andrade-Watkins Named One of Greatest Living Rhode Islanders
Institute professor and interdisciplinary storyteller Claire Andrade-Watkins was named one of the 50 Greatest Living Rhode Islanders by Go Local Prov News, alongside historian Gordon Wood, actress Viola Davis, journalist Meredith Viera, and more.
Andrade-Watkins’s digital archive project, encapsulating over 30 years of work, “Our Rhode: 30 Years of Cinema by and about Cape Verdean Rhode Islanders,” was featured at the Museum of Fine Arts in the summer of 2016.
A native of Fox Point in Providence, among other awards, Andrade-Watkins is a recipient of the 2008 Community Service Award from the Fox Point Boys and Girls Club Alumni Association.
