Emerson Endures: Documenting Our Shared COVID-19 Experience

A person in a media studio looks at a screen with a microphone in front of them.

Our current reality is like nothing we’ve ever seen or witnessed in human history. We are all witnesses…hopefully staying at least 6 feet away from each other.

With that said, Emersonians are creators! Emerson College Archives is documenting reflections made by the Emerson community on how the pandemic has impacted their lives, and to submit those materials to the archives digitally.

How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected you, your family, and your friends? What is it like to live in this new reality of social distancing, commodity rationing, and uncertainty?

Submissions will be publicly available online so the community can learn how the pandemic has affected others and to create a sense of camaraderie amongst Emersonians separated by great distances.

Many different types of submissions are being accepted, such as the following:

  • Fiction stories
  • Poetry
  • Nonfiction writing
  • Monologues
  • Interviews
  • Sounds of daily life
  • Original music
  • Original dances
  • Artwork (scanned or photographed) and images
  • Other original works

Please remember that all submissions will be publicly available on the College’s digital archives and exhibits webpages, so please do not include any information that you would not wish to be publicly accessible.
