Intern with Red Sox Radio in an Emerson Exclusive Internship
WEEI-FM Boston (93.7) is the home of Red Sox Radio, the city’s on-air source for Red Sox game coverage and news. For the past several years, Emerson alumni affiliated with the station have offered an Emerson-exclusive internship for current students interested in sports broadcast journalism. Now it’s your chance to get involved.
The Career Development Center and the School of Communication are proud to announce the application for the Red Sox Radio 2020 Internship, now accepting applications from current sophomore or junior students. The deadline to apply for this opportunity is Tuesday, January 7.
Two interns will be hired to support on-air radio announcers Joe Castiglione and Sean McDonough, as well as the show’s producer, Doug Lane. Interns will work directly out of the booth and clubhouse at Fenway Park, assisting with audio board work and social media monitoring. Interns will also be responsible for monitoring audio during post-game interviews.
Interested applications should have a passion for baseball and a desire to learn more in the field of sports journalism. This role requires interns to dig up stories, conduct a great deal of research, and, of course, follow games throughout the season. Learn more and apply on Handshake.
This internship is a collaboration between Emerson College’s Journalism and Communication Studies Departments and is open to all majors. Questions can be sent to the Career Development Center Marketing and Communications Manager Anders Croft at anders_croft@emerson.edu, or Journalism internship director Marsha Della Giustina at m_dgiustina@emerson.edu.
