2019 New England Graduate Media Symposium Accepting Submissions

Greetings and Happy New Year from the New England Graduate Media Symposium at Emerson College!

We’re excited to announce that this year’s NEGMS will take place on March 15-16 at Emerson College. In the past years, we’ve had an active number of application and attendance from New England graduate institutions, and we’re hoping to invite more graduate students to be a part of this amazing event!

We have an open call for graduate student work that can address or is related to the 2019 theme, Defining Journeys. We invite graduate students in media and the arts to explore different interpretations of the word “journey” with us. From road trips and spiritual quests to border crossings and the many ways that our lives change, we will revisit the journeys that have shaped and defined us through various art forms. Accepted panelists will present their work on the day of the event, followed by a moderated panel discussion. A prize of $250 will be given to the recipient of the “Best Student Project” award.

The link to submission is negmediasymposium.net/submit . You can also find more information of the event on the website. The submission deadline is January 31.

All current or recently graduated students in New England-based graduate programs are eligible to submit and the NEGMS welcomes all forms of media and art, including but not limited to  film/video, painting, photography, sculpture, performance, installation and interactive art. Scholarly work about media or art is also eligible for consideration.

The NEGMS is one of the only platforms in the New England area for graduate students working in media and the arts to share their works and connect with each other. We hope more and more students will benefit from the event, thanks to your help!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out atnegmediasymposium@gmail.com . Looking forward to seeing everyone in March!
