The student voices of a cappella groups from Emerson and other Boston colleges filled the Cutler Majestic Theatre for the 10th annual All A Cappella Live concert sponsored by WERS-FM on March 28.
Emerson’s four student a cappella groups—Acapellics Anonymous, Noteworthy, Treble Makers, and Achoired Taste—kicked off the show before a competition between the Boston University Allegrettos, the Boston University Dear Abbeys, Northeastern University’s Treble on Huntington, the UMass Dynamics, and the UMass Vocal Suspects.

The BU Dear Abbeys won the competition, which came with an $850 cash prize and being named “The Best of Boston Collegiate A Cappella 2015.”
Emerson radio station WERS-FM hosts a line-up of a cappella programming each weekend.
“With all the diversity we present on 88.9 WERS every weekend, it’s great to see the support in person for these kinds of shows,” said Jack Casey, WERS general manager. “We thank all of our listeners for their support year after year.”

WERS operational manager Howard Simpson ’94 spent several weeks preparing and producing All A Cappella Live.
“It’s great when it all comes together,” Simpson said. “Producing backstage, I not only get a great view of the groups, but also the audience. It’s great to see all those smiles again this year.”
