State of the College

Emerson President Lee Pelton released his annual State of the College address to the Emerson community on October 31, outlining the College’s updated strategic plan for academic excellence, civic engagement, internationalization and global engagement, innovation, and financial stewardship and sustainability.

Pelton said the College’s fiscal health is “robust and sound,” but stressed the need to continue fundraising for facilities, beginning immediately with a focus on Emerson College Los Angeles.

He also reported that interest from prospective students has never been greater, with a record of more than 8,000 undergraduate applications for the current freshman class.
