Autism awareness group honors Di Bona ’66

Vin Di Bona ’66, an Emerson Trustee and executive producer of America’s Funniest Home Videos, was honored Sunday, October 6, with the 2013 ACTivist Award in California for his volunteer work for the national nonprofit organization that seeks to raise awareness and funds to help children with autism.

“[Di Bona] has worked to not only increase autism awareness, but also raise funds to help us provide direct access to care and treatment for children with autism whose families cannot afford the necessary tools,” a statement from the organization said. “This includes therapy, medical care, social skills programs, tuition for special needs schools, assistive technology, basic safety equipment, assistance dogs, and assistance to military families with kids with autism.”
