Colombian professor welcomed
Edgar Arroyo Castro, the dean of the department of architecture and art at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, in Medellín, Colombia, was welcomed to Emerson September 24 with a reception at the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the Walker Building.
Arroyo Castro and Tamera Marko, lecturer in Emerson’s Writing, Literature and Publishing Department, continue to oversee Proyecto Boston Medellín 2014, an ongoing arts, writing, videography, teaching, and social awareness collaboration between Emerson and Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
Several Emerson students traveled to Colombia last summer as part of the collaboration to create documentary films on women and families who were forced to flee their rural towns due to violence.
Visit the Proyecto Boston Medellín 2014 website for more information on the collaboration.
