Emerson to present Communication Week
Emerson’s School of Communication will host its third annual Communication Week April 2–6, 2012. The School’s four departments, Communication Studies, Journalism, Marketing Communication, and Communication Sciences and Disorders, along with the Graduate program in Health Communication have programmed events at which students and alumni can learn more about their areas of study, network with others in their fields, and attend guest lectures.
“The School of Communication is delighted to present students with a week of events designed to engage them in discussions about contemporary communication issues,” said Dean of the School of Communication Janis Andersen. “Communication Week is a time for students to celebrate, be inspired by, learn about, and prepare for work in the communication disciplines.”
Events during the week range from a discussion about a court decision that guaranteed testimonial accommodations for crime victims with communication disabilities, to a conversation with female journalists about working in war zones. The annual Walt Littlefield Distinguished Speaker in Rhetoric and Political Communication, Jennifer Howell ’96 will also deliver a presentation.
