Olivia DiNucci is named to D3 Hoops team

Emerson College women’s basketball forward Olivia DiNucci ’13 (Pittsburgh, PA) has been named to the D3Hoops.comAll-Northeast Region team for her play during the 2010–2011 season. This honor marks the first time an Emerson women’s player has been named to the D3Hoops.com team.

DiNucci, who was a fourth team selection, is one of only three sophomores to earn a spot on the team, and is one of only two players from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) among the 20 women named to the team.

Players were nominated for the team by the sports information directors of the participating schools. There were 680 players nominated nationwide, which was a new high. The ballot was then made available to the directors, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.

DiNucci has also recently garnered a number of conference honors. She was a first team selection this season after being named the Conference’s Rookie of the Year in 2010. During the most recent season, she led the Lions in scoring average at 14.3 per game. She led the conference in three-pointers this season, making 75 of 185 attempted. She holds the top ranking for three-point shots made per game, second in three-point field goal percentage, and scored double digits in all but one game this season. DiNucci was also fourth in the Conference in free throw percentage at .821.
