Holiday celebration thanks faculty and staff

President Jacqueline Liebergott hosted a holiday celebration to thank Emerson faculty and staff, who were encouraged to bring significant others, including children. More than 500 faculty and staff attended the fete held in the Paramount Center, including approximately 100 children.

Party goers donated more than 135 pairs of children’s pajamas for the Pajama Program, a nonprofit group that collects pajamas for children seeking adoption.

In the Black Box Theatre, children were entertained by a magician, a caricaturist, cupcake decorating, stuffed teddy bear making, and Violet the Clown, who did face painting and made balloon animals. The room featured a buffet of kid-friendly food.
In the lobby of the Bright Family Screening Room, there were dozens of desserts, including a hot chocolate and coffee bar. In the screening room, a calming video of a fireplace played continuously.

And downstairs, on the Paramount mainstage, guests were entertained by a jazz ensemble of Berklee College of Music students.

Also in attendance were several local Emerson governing board members, including Trustees Ted Cutler ’51, Marillyn Zacharis, and the recently appointed Robert Courtemanche. Co-chair of the Board of Overseers Denise Kaigler ’85 also joined the festivities.

Director of International Study and External Programs David Griffin ’85, MA ’93 won the evening’s door prize: an iPad.
