ArtsEmerson Opening Weekend Full of Fun and Surprises

The inaugural season of ArtsEmerson: The World on Stage kicked off September 23 with an array of events ranging from film and theater to music and tours.

Crowds flocked to Emerson’s Paramount Center and Cutler Majestic Theatre to witness the world premiere of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, as well as the Boston debut of Doug Elkins and Friends’ Fraulein Maria.

The weekend celebration also drew in community members for the screening of a vault print of The Sound of Music and an assortment of films by and related to Godard.

ArtsEmerson hosted a series of Laramie “Dine and Discuss” sessions at local restaurants. Patrons dined with civil rights activists and scholars, who facilitated discussions inspired by the plays.

Come experience ArtsEmerson yourself.
