The annual SOC Awards Program, held during the final week of the semester, continued the School of Communication’s tradition of recognizing student contributions and achievement. This year, faculty from across the SOC nominated 40 individuals for their efforts among nine award categories.
The reception was one event part of Senior Week leading up to commencement.
Rosa’s company, Purple Intuition, is committed to projects that embody equitable representation of marginalized individuals.
Upcycled clothing, apps, and jewelry, are some of the business ideas being pitched.
Emersonian films are entered in categories including documentary feature, feature film, and narrative short.
Emerson once again is included in Variety’s annual North America top film school list, highlighting courses of study, the Emerson Los Angeles intern program, and the directing studio in the Paramount Center on the Boston campus.
The feature film will screen at festivals around the world this summer, while a gallery version kicks off a U.S. museum tour at the Whitney Biennial.
Six filmmakers were chosen among nearly 70 submissions this year. Emerson LA staff, along with alumni volunteers, produce the showcase.
The New England group, the Secret Society of Black Creatives, is holding its annual Konnect Konference from April 12 – 14.
