On Monday, November 20th… At 8PM… In Little Building 227… we compete for infamy! Emerson Poetry Project is so excited to once again bring you our Box of Doom Slam Poetry Tournament! The Box of Doom is a competitive poetry event consisting of the worst of what literature has to offer. We want your favorite tumblr textposts and tiktok sounds! We want cringy song lyrics and quotes! Competitors will be performing bad works of art in the style of slam poetry, all submitted by you! If you have any material you would like to see read at the slam, please submit it to our Google Form (note that submitting material does not mean that you will perform this material/are obligated to perform at all). Our competing poets will draw from these submissions at RANDOM and perform them BLIND, and then will be scored by a panel of judges!
If you wish to compete, please register at any E.P.P. event or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We will only accept day-of registrations if we have any additional spots, so make sure to sign up early!
If you wish to judge or attend, there is no need to register in advance! Just come to E.P.P. with your enthusiasm! Hope to see you there!
The Emerson Poetry Project (E.P.P.) is dedicated to building a community of writers who want to share their original work, receive helpful feedback, and improve their craft through the medium of performance poetry. Every voice is important, and E.P.P. provides an open environment in which anyone and everyone is welcome to contribute. We hold weekly meetings consisting of open mics, slams, featured poets, and workshops.
