StressLess: A Wellness Group

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Looking to meet new people on campus and gain support from peers? Join us this spring for “Stress Less,” a casual drop-in space for fostering connection between Emerson students through shared experiences. Each week, stop in and chat with your peers about different topics related to stress and wellness. Light refreshments provided. Tuesdays 2-2:45pm in UBANK 301.
Feb. 27  Imposter syndrome: Imposter syndrome is feelings of anxiety or self consciousness due to feeling a “fraud” or a “fake.” These feelings can come up no matter what your profession or line of study is. Come talk about the 4 P’s of imposter syndrome: People Pleasing, Perfectionism, Paralysis and Procrastination and how we can work towards self confidence and acceptance.
March 5 Building wellness confidence and setting boundaries for your wellness: Building wellness in our lives is a skill that takes practice. There are many dimensions of wellness that we might not think about or prioritize. Building wellness confidence is about exploring different aspects of yourself that lead to holistic wellbeing.
March 19 Coping with stress in relationships: Relationships with family, friends, and partners can be fulfilling, but also stressful! Sometimes, it is beneficial to talk about these relationships with people not involved to get new insight and support. Find support in peers and join our space to talk about stress in relationships.
March 26 Self-compassion and gratitude: The most important and longest lasting relationship in your life is with yourself! Practicing gratitude for yourself can take a back seat to other obligations in life despite it being an important part of self-compassion and love. Join us to share ways you practice gratitude in your life and learn from others.
April 2 Improving motivation/procrastination: It’s that time of the year again… Assignments and projects are piling up and it’s hard to focus when the end of the semester is in sight! Come strategize with others on ways to keep on track and motivated for these last few weeks of the semester.
April 9 Mindfulness: Does your mind feel cluttered at the moment? It’s time to return to yourself. Join others in practicing mindfulness and learning about ways to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life.
April 16 Holistic rest: sleep and breaks: Having trouble sleeping? Feel as if you are tired all the time and can’t seem to get anything done? Join peers in gaining support and share tips on getting a good rest, day or night.
April 23: Academic stress and burnout: The end (of the semester) is near! Feeling stressed about finals? Finish the semester strong by meeting with other students feeling the same way. Take time for yourself this finals season and find peer support.
April 30 Stress related to transitions and the unknown + celebrating your accomplishments!: You did it! Whether you are excited, nervous, or a bit both for the next steps, come and celebrate your accomplishments and lean into the unknown with your fellow Emerson students.
