Join the Comedic Arts-Living Community and Comedic Arts Alumni Joe Schiappa for a night of sketch comedy planning, prepping, etc.
Sketch A SketchThis workshop focuses on the techniques to quickly work out a solid sketch premise. In order to write a great sketch, you need an idea that “has legs”, one that won’t burn out in the first minute, or one that has eight premises in one sketch. We will talk about authentic heightening, what makes an okay idea into a hilarious idea, and using real-life as inspiration for sketches. You will leave with an outline that you can build into a script.Joe Schiappa is a writer and performer based in New York City. You can find Joe’s series Sport Court debuted on IFC.com.
