Kent State and Jackson State 53rd Anniversary Retrospective

Pulitzer Prize winning photographer John Filo and Mary Vecchio, the young woman over the body of Jeff Miller in the iconic photo taken on May 4, 1970, will visit Emerson for the Kent State Jackson State Retrospective. They will speak on “Storytelling” at 6:30 pm.

Prior to the panel, Kent State, the Emmy Award-wining NBC docudrama, will be screened at 4:00 pm, followed by a reception at 6:00 pm.

A Southwick Recital, featuring scenes from Kent State: A Requiem, play written by Communication Studies Chair Greg Payne, and poems inspired by Kent State and Jackson State written by Emerson students, will be performed at 8:00 p.m, preceded by a  reception at 7:30 p.m.
