Under Leadership of Co-CEO Pam Abdy ’95, LHD ’23, Warner Bros. Nets 11 Oscars
The Oscars proved to be a successful night for Pam Abdy ’95, LHD ’23, co-CEO of Warner Bros., after the studio took home 11 Oscars on Sunday, tying the record for the most wins for a single studio.
And when Sinners won big at the Academy Awards, two of the film’s key creators—actor Michael B. Jordan and writer-director Ryan Coogler—made sure to publicly recognize Abdy and her co-CEO Michael De Luca.
“I want to thank Warner Bros. I want to thank Mike and Pam for believing in this dream, this vision of Ryan Coogler, and betting on a culture and betting on original ideas, and original artistry…” said Jordan, after winning his first Academy Award for Best Actor.
Jordan thanks Abdy at the 1:30 mark.
Similarly, in his acceptance speech for Best Original Screenplay for Sinners, Ryan Coogler thanked Abdy.
“I want to thank everybody that was involved in this movie, starting with Warner Bros.— Mike and Pam…” said Coogler.

After receiving a record 16 Academy Award nominations, Sinners went on to win four Oscars, including Best Original Score and Best Cinematography. The latter award made history when Autumn Dural Arkapaw became the first woman to win the Academy Award for cinematography.
Abdy and De Luca also oversaw several other award-winning Warner Bros. films this year, including One Battle After Another, which won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. In total, Warner Bros. films in 2025 earned 30 Oscar nominations—tying the studio’s all-time record. Sinners received 16 nominations, One Battle After Another earned 13, and Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.
Earlier in the awards season, One Battle After Another writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson publicly thanked Abdy for protecting the film and supporting filmmakers during his acceptance speech at the Producers Guild of America Awards.
Abdy, who spoke at Emerson’s Commencement in 2023, has served as co-CEO of Warner Bros. since 2022. Before joining Warner Bros., she served as President of MGM’s Motion Picture Group, overseeing development, production, and post-production for all MGM and Orion films. Prior to that, she was Partner and Head of Film at Makeready, President of Production at New Regency, President of Scott Stuber’s Bluegrass Films, and Executive Vice President at Paramount Pictures.
Abdy got her start in Hollywood thanks to an internship during her semester at Emerson Los Angeles. That role with Danny DeVito’s Jersey Films launched a 30-year career overseeing development, production, and post-production for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood.
A member of the Producers Guild of America, she also serves as a Governor on the Executive Board of the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and participates in The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program.
