Winter Storm; Tuesday Schedule Changes for Boston Campus

Dear Emersonians,

The snow storm that impacted the Boston area yesterday and today continues to cause challenges for our communities, including our faculty, staff and students. We recognize some people are without power, some are waiting for streets to be plowed and many K-12 school districts are closed again tomorrow.

Therefore,  although all campuses will be open on Tuesday, we are moving all Boston classes online and asking that non-essential employees based on the Boston campus work remotely, unless your supervisor directs you to report to work in-person. 

We are also implementing several schedule changes for the Boston campus tomorrow. As of now:

• All Boston classes Tuesday will be held online, wherever possible.
• Non-essential Boston employees should work remotely on Tuesday, if feasible. If your manager asks you to come in and you are unable to report to campus due to a safety issue, please discuss with your supervisor and make arrangements to take appropriate time off.
• The Dining Center and Max Cafe will be open Tuesday for normal hours. Dining Center (7:30am – 9:00pm), Max Cafe (11:00am – 2:00am). Other dining options will not be available.
• The Iwasaki Library will be open Tuesday from 1:00pm-9:00pm.
• The College bookstore will be closed Tuesday.
• The Fitness Center will be closed Tuesday.

We plan to be open for normal operations on Wednesday. If anything changes, we will update our community accordingly. Updates will be communicated via email and posted to both the website and Emerson Today.

We encourage everyone to monitor conditions prior to traveling, and to take appropriate cautions if travel is necessary. Up to date information from the National Weather Service in Boston can be found here.
