Sharing Difficult News on an Unfolding Situation
To the Emerson community,
I am writing to you to provide an update on an unfolding situation and offer resources for anyone who is affected by this news. The Boston Police Department is confirming that an individual working near 219 Tremont Street has fallen from a construction site and, tragically, has passed away.
Emerson College extends our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of this person and our heartfelt support to anyone who may have witnessed this tragedy. We are still learning more about what occurred, and are in open, ongoing contact with city authorities. They will manage the sharing of information including the identity of the individual and the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Losses like this remind us how precious, and sometimes fleeting, life can be. If you or someone you know needs support in processing this loss, we want to remind you of the resources that are available to you on campus, including the Employee Assistance Program, Counseling Services and UWill, Healing & Advocacy Collective, Emerson Concern Center, and the Center for Spiritual Life.
Sincerely,
Jay M. Bernhardt
President
