COVID Update: Office of the Arts COVID Policies

Dear Emerson College Community,

We are writing today to clarify the COVID-19 protocols for the following on-campus venues and their adjacent lobbies:

Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre; Emerson Paramount Center (Robert J. Orchard Stage, Jackie Liebergott Black Box, Bright Family Screening Room, and Paramount Studios); and Tufte Performance and Production Center (Semel Theater and Greene Theater).

Based on the frequency and number of larger gatherings hosted within the Office of the Arts venues, mask-wearing will remain mandatory backstage and for audiences. To be admitted to these venues, audiences will be required to show proof of full vaccination or proof that they have received a negative COVID-19 test result.

Emerson College mask-optional protocols may be applied in the following circumstances.

  • Officially scheduled, academic classes in the theatres or Paramount studios may follow Emerson College masking protocol.
  • Internal campus department meetings (i.e. faculty meetings, student orientation) that do not include non-Emerson personnel and that do not require technical support beyond meeting setup and troubleshooting, may follow Emerson College masking protocols.

For further information, please visit the Theatres of Emerson College Public Health page.

If you have any questions about the above information please contact OAcovid19@emerson.edu directly.

Thanks for your time and attention.

Best,
Ryan Walsh
Interim Director of Marketing
