Community Advisory Re: Public Demonstrations Near Boston Campus
Dear Members of the Emerson Community,
We are writing to share information concerning public demonstrations scheduled in response to the SCOTUS decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. ECPD is aware of First Amendment-protected activity planned for TODAY (Friday, June 24) in the area of the Park Street Station, Boston Common at 5:00 pm, and Copley Square at 6:00 pm.
This information is being provided to inform community members that there may be large crowds in these areas, and there may be additional police presence in an effort to ensure public safety.
Emerson College officials will maintain contact with the City of Boston to coordinate our public safety plans. We will provide additional communication to the community over the weekend, if necessary.
If you are scheduled to work on campus this weekend, please understand there may be impact to pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area of campus due to these or other First Amendment-protected activities.
