Men’s Basketball Team Heading to DIII Tournament

For the second time in three years, the Emerson men’s basketball team will represent the NEWMAC in the NCAA’s upcoming Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament, as the Lions earned an at-large bid alongside Babson and WPI.

The Lions will head to Rochester, New York, to take on the University of Massachusetts -Dartmouth at 3:35 pm on Friday, March 4. 

Emerson finished the regular season at 18-7, and 10-4 in NEWMAC play, their best conference record since joining in the 2013-14 season.

The Lions topped No. 2 Babson in an overtime thriller in the NEWMAC Semifinals last Thursday night before they were topped by No. 1 WPI in the championship game this past Saturday. Emerson enters the NCAA DIII Tournament having led the conference in points per game at 81.6.
