Hurley Describes Supporting Sophomore Students: Boston Globe

Maureen Hurley, the College’s director of student transitions and family programs, spoke to the Boston Globe about special programs for sophomores this academic year, as last year was not typical due to the ongoing pandemic.

On Monday, Emerson held a resource fair and campus tours specifically for transfer students and sophomores. The idea, said Maureen Hurley, director of student transitions and family programs, was to introduce them to campus “in a way that they can touch and hold.” “Sophomores are in a different place than they were last year, but they still have needs that haven’t been met,” Hurley said.

Hurley is the co-author of a recently released book, College Ready 2021: Expert Advice for Parents to Simplify the College Transition.
