Dear Graduate Faculty and Students:
As we head back to class for the Spring 2021 semester, I’d like to clarify the calendar for graduate classes and point out how the graduate calendar differs from that for undergraduate students. There are actually three different calendars for graduate students, based on the program.
The Speech@Emerson calendar has not changed.
The DMDA (Digital Marketing and Data Analytics) calendar has not changed.
All other programs will follow the Boston Graduate Calendar. This includes both Flex and Online classes. There have been some changes here, and there are some differences from the Boston Undergraduate Calendar. 400/600 cross-listed courses will follow the Undergraduate Calendar.
Classes for Spring begin Tuesday, January 19, and will meet virtually up until February 1. This includes Flex classes. This also includes Thursday, January 21 and Friday January 22. (This is where the graduate calendar differs from the Undergraduate. Undergraduate classes will not be held on those two days because undergraduate students will be moving into their dorms.)
On-campus meetings for Flex classes will begin on February 1 on their scheduled class day.
The last day of class will be Thursday, April 29. Both Flex and Online classes will follow a Friday Schedule. (This differs from the Undergraduate as well.)
Thank you for your patience as we adjust to what is needed to protect the safety of students, faculty and staff during this time. Best wishes for a successful semester.
