Kolodzy on Trump’s Treatment of Women Journalists: AJC

Professor and Chair of the Journalism department Janet Kolodzy, a former editor and producer at CNN, contributed to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution piece regarding President Trump’s behavior toward women journalists. Kolodzy points out that male journalists historically far outnumbered females until the near end of the 20th century, and at that time Helen Thomas of UPI established herself as a seasoned reporter. The article cites CBS reporter Weijia Jiang as a recent recipient of bad treatment at a press briefing.

Trump has raised this to a whole different level. It’s one thing to say you don’t like people and don’t want to work with them, with Trump it’s consistently personal.”
