Family Weekend 2018

Dear Emerson Community,

Family Weekend is coming up and we’d like you to be aware that you may see more parents and family members on campus October 20 – 21, 2018.  We’d also like to invite you to join us for some of the events.

Here are highlights:

Saturday, October 20

10:00 – 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.  Emerson Faculty Showcase

Various faculty members will present fascinating and informative topics from their curriculum or personal passion for parents and families.

11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Parent and Family Programs Meet-Up

Participants have the opportunity to meet the Family Weekend Committee members as well as other student leaders and the faculty who presented during the Emerson Faculty Showcase.

4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. – Emerson Stage Production of Incorruptible

Tickets available at the Emerson Box Offices in advance, or at the door for this dark comedy.

Sunday, October 21

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  President’s Farewell Reception, Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym, 150 Boylston Street.

This event is a new format and has replaced the more traditional Family Weekend Breakfast.  The morning will feature President Lee Pelton giving parents and family members an address at the Paramount Theater (Orchard Stage) at 10:30 a.m., and then culminating at the Reception.  We would love to have some presence from around campus to help with greeting and mingling with families and students at the final event of the weekend.

If you plan on attending, kindly complete the form at https://emerson.edu/student-affairs/family-weekend/payment-facultystaff.

Also, in an effort to follow sustainable practices, we ask that you bring your “official” Emerson name badge to the events you’ll attend.  If you do not have one, simply let us know at familyweekend@emerson.edu and we’ll make you a paper badge.

The full Family Weekend schedule, including locations, will be available on the Emerson App closer to the event.  Visit the site: www.emerson.edu/student-affairs/family-weekend.
