Selfies capture Staff Appreciation event

More than 50 Emerson College staff members were honored for their years of service at the annual Staff Appreciation Reception on May 27 at The Ritz-Carlton Boston Common.
Staff members had fun socializing with colleagues and posing for photos with a “selfie stick” that was passed around.
President Lee Pelton provided remarks before awarding 53 employees with engraved glass plaques and American Express gift cards for working at Emerson for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years, along with Candace Carter-Smalley, director of operations for Human Resources.
“I want you to know that Emerson’s success is due in no small part to your dedicated commitment to the College,” Pelton said. “You play a vital role here, and I truly appreciate all that you do.”
30 Years of Service
Honored for 30 years of service were Sandy Cohn Thau of Communication Sciences and Disorders; Bill Gilligan of Information Technology; Hugh Gilbert of Telecommunications; and David Griffin of Education Abroad and Domestic Programs.
