During the showcase, On the Verge: Boldly Going Where Many Actors Have Gone Before, the performers acted out comedic and dramatic scenes from theatre and movies like Bridesmaids and My Best Friend’s Wedding, and television shows like New Girl and Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous.

Directed by faculty member Kay Cole, the showcase’s name was inspired by the modern Emerson Los Angeles building, as well as the students venturing out into a new world after graduating. Students rehearsed for about a month and a half during and outside of class.
