Gubernatorial forum on arts July 15

Massachusetts’ gubernatorial candidates are having an important discussion on the impact of the arts in the Commonwealth on Tuesday, July 15—and Emerson’s Elma Lewis Center for Civic Engagement, Learning, and Research hopes you can attend.

The Elma Lewis Center is asking anyone from the Emerson community interested in attending the forum at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, which will be held 6:00–7:30 pm with a reception beginning at 4:30 pm, to register on the MassCreative website. (In the comments section, please enter “EMERSON BUS.”)

MassCreative is exploring the possibility of transporting constituents by bus from Boston to attend the forum.

“The Elma Lewis Center is partnering with MassCreative and the Create the Vote Coalition to ensure that a thriving arts, culture, and creative sector is part of the discussion during the 2014 gubernatorial election,” the Elma Lewis Center recently wrote in an email to all Emerson students, faculty, and staff. “Emerson knows that arts matter. Help make sure that the next governor of Massachusetts is a true champion of the arts.”

The Hanover Theatre is located at 2 Southbridge Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
