Athletics Director search firm on campus
An outside executive search and consulting firm is on campus this week to assist Emerson College in its national search for a permanent athletics director.
Alden & Associates has provided executive search and consulting services for intercollegiate athletics since 1999, and has worked with higher education institutions throughout the country, including schools within the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Emerson joined NEWMAC this fall after being a founding member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for the past 18 years.
Alden & Associates will be on campus Thursday, November 7, and Friday, November 8, to meet with key stakeholders, including staff, faculty, and students, to gain a deeper understanding of the Athletics program and Emerson College.
The College anticipates the search will conclude with an offer by the beginning of March 2014.
Chair of the search committee is Dean of Students Ron Ludman. The other members are Michael Brown, assistant professor in Journalism; Lynn Butkovsky, director of the Academic Advising Center; William Gould, head coach of Women’s Basketball; Al Jaffe ’68, Emerson Trustee and vice president of talent at ESPN; Ruthanne Madsen, associate vice president of student financial services; Margaret Moore, head coach of Women’s Lacrosse; Tatiana Motevalli-Oliner ’14, Women’s Softball player; Julian Rifkind ’15, Men’s Basketball player; Sylvia Spears, vice president for diversity and inclusion; and Christopher Wright, director of enrollment technology.
