Bill White, Alumni Assn. board member, dies
Member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors William H. White III ’69 died on September 24. He was 65 and lived in Washington, D.C.
White was the president of the Washington, D.C., Alumni Association chapter and then served as a board member from June 2008 through June 2012. While on the Alumni Board, he served on the Board Leadership Committee. White was also involved with the establishment of the EBONI Alumni Group earlier this year. Classmates posted their remembrances of Bill on a Facebook page: “a gentle person,” “kind,” “strong,” “an effective leader,” “a class act,” “loving all music,” “a pro at bringing people together,” and “very passionate about Emerson.”
White is predeceased by his mother, Rosa White-Terry; surviving are his father, William H. White II; two sisters, Alfreda Davis and Sherry Brooks-Roberts; two brothers, Arthur Brooks and Donald Brooks; an uncle, Elder LeRoy Whaley; two nephews; one niece; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; a god-sister, Tamesha Livingston; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, at 11:00 am at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, 1217 Calhoun Street, Trenton, NJ 08638. Interment will be in Stoutsburg Cemetery in Hopewell, New Jersey, and calling hours will be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
