Alumni win Tony Awards

Two Emerson alumni were honored at Sunday’s Tony Awards.

Jason Grossman ’02 produced Peter and the Starcatcher.

Emerson alumnus Jason Grossman ’02 was a producer for Peter and the Starcatcher, which won big at the 66th annual Tony Awards taking home five Tonys: best actor, scenic design, costume design, lighting design, and sound design. Emerson alumna Judith Resnick ’64 was a producer for The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, which won best revival of a musical and best actress (Audra McDonald).

Grossman and Resnick were among five fellow Emerson alums who were either nominated for Tony’s or played a role in a Tony-nominated play. The Tony Awards recognize achievement in live Broadway theater.
