President Pelton featured on the cover of Color Magazine

A Q&A with Emerson President Lee Pelton is the cover story for the August edition of Color Magazine, which has an education theme to its articles this month. Pelton spoke with editor Michael J. Chin about the impact of higher education, the importance of community service, and his love of 19th-century British Romantic poetry, among other topics.

“…One of the aims of great colleges and universities, no matter their niche or specialized mission, is to educate students as leaders in a participatory democracy,” said Pelton. “We need to make sure, at Emerson, that the curriculum and the architecture of [students’] social lives helps to contribute in meaningful ways to their growth and development so they can put into play their full potential as leaders and shapers of society.” Read the article on the Color Magazine website»
