Auction raises scholarship funds
The Sixth Annual Emerson College Alumni Association Scholarship Auction goes live on Monday, May 23, and runs through Monday, June 6. Each year, this important drive helps to raise thousands of dollars to support both undergraduate and graduate students who would otherwise not be able to attend Emerson.
Auction participants have the opportunity to bid on hundreds of items including autographed novels, photographs, and prints; clothing and jewelry; vacation get-aways; and tickets to sporting events, movies, concerts, and Broadway shows. The items are generously donated by Emerson alumni, parents, board members, and friends of the College.
Open to Emersonians and to the public, the auction website can be found at http://www.biddingforgood.com/emerson. Bidding starts as low as $10. We will continue to update the website as new items come in.
“Previously, the Alumni Association has awarded two scholarships in each of the last five years,” said Barbara Rutberg ’68, associate vice president for institutional advancement and director of alumni relations. “This year, the Emerson Alumni Association will present six students with $4,000 scholarships for the 2011–2012 academic year. As long as the students continue to meet Emerson’s academic and financial requirements, they will be able to count on receiving this award each year throughout their Emerson careers,” she said.
If you would like to contribute an item, please contact Jaimee Rizzo at 617-824-8537. Rizzo can provide additional information and answer any questions you might have.
