Peter Rojas Talks About More Than Just Gadgets

What advice does Peter Rojas, the founder of some of the most popular and influential blogs on the Internet, have for Emerson students? Focus.

Rojas is the co-founder of gdgt.com, a gadgets and consumer electronics site. He is also the creator of Engadget.com, Gizmodo.com, Joystiq.com, hackaday.com, and Engadget Mobile.

On September 22 Rojas told a packed room at Emerson’s Max Mutchnick Campus Center that it is important to keep the topic of a blog or website narrow in scope.

“When you want to build a platform or community it’s helpful to have a focus that people can coalesce around,” Rojas said.

Emerson faculty member David Gerzof presented and mediated the event.
