The Berkeley Beacon General Meeting

The Berkeley Beacon is the only student newspaper at Emerson College – founded in 1947, we are editorially independent. We are one of the longest standing orgs on campus and offer opportunity to enter leadership positions as well as gain co-curricular credit. 
At a general meeting, we hear a weekly critique of the online and print publication from our wonderful advisor James Sullivan. This is an amazing opportunity to get one-on-one feedback from an industry professional. At these meetings, we also pitch stories in six sections — News, Living Arts, Sports, Opinion, Multimedia, and our semesterly magazine. Students are also welcome to bring their own pitches on any subject of interest to them to be included in our publication. 
Students of all majors and experience levels are welcome to join our weekly meetings. We accept new students at any point in the semester, and encourage anyone with questions to join us at a general meeting or reach out to Editor-in-Chief Sophia Pargas (sophia_pargas@emerson.edu) for any guidance on how to get started.
