Screening and Talkback: ‘Shimmer Summer’

Join us for a screening of the narrative short film Shimmer Summer, followed by a conversation with international Chinese filmmaker and Emersonian Tong Mao ’16, led by Jim Lane, Emerson LA Senior Scholar-in-Residence and Graduate Program Director of the Low Residency MFA in Writing Film & Television.

Mao’s film exploring themes of diversity and fluidity in gender identity and expression, as well as friendship and family affection, has been screened in film festivals including Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, and NewFest.
