Emerging Conversations: Building Resilience in a Media Career

April 23 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

A career in media can mean exposure to an array of stressors, including traumatic content and workplace demands. The impact of this work can have a profound effect on mental health, relationships, and lives outside of the workplace.

Join us for an important conversation about how media professionals can work to develop strategies and resilience to cope with the unique impact of workplace burnout and trauma. Featuring Jim Aleski ’97, fire lieutenant in Cherry Hill, NJ, and former TV producer; Christian Alicea ’93, director, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt; Robin Murdoch ’97, reporter, Fox 2 Detroit; Jessie Quintero Johnson, trauma therapist and Associate Professor of Health & Social Change. Moderated by Journalism Chair Lu Ann Reeb.

Open to the Emerson community. Register on Eventbrite.
