As we continue to assess positive COVID case rates within our Emerson community and around Boston area, we are pleased to share the following adjustments to our current COVID policies on the Boston campus, effective Monday, February 7, 2022.
Tufts Medical Center has let us know that the test center at 116 Harrison Avenue will be CLOSED on Saturday, January 29, due to the expected snow.
We will shift back to once-a-week testing faculty and staff starting next Monday, January 31

Recent CDC guidance has shown that well-fitting, non-cloth masks are the best face coverings to use at this time to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
After consulting with the LA County Department of Public Health, anyone that has received a laboratory-confirmed (PCR test) positive COVID-19 test result within the last 90 days will be exempt from our weekly PCR testing.
This message is to follow up on the message sent earlier by Interim President Gilligan to add more context and details specific to student life on the Boston campus.
Here are some ELA specifics which are outlined below.
To help accommodate as many people as possible in our testing protocol this month, Tufts Medical Center will be open for PCR testing for Emerson community members each Saturday for the month of January ONLY.
Over the last several weeks, the College has remained in close consultation with public health and local officials, and we remain confident that we can begin classes in-person as planned and maintain the health and safety of our community members.
