An Emerson tradition: more than 150 orientation leaders greet hundreds of new residents in “Emerson-fashion,” singing and dancing to welcome the incoming class.

On Monday, August 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Emerson College student orientation leaders will welcome approximately 900 new, incoming undergraduates to campus in true “Emerson fashion,” with music, singing, and dancing as they move students into the residence halls, including 2 Boylston Place, the College’s newest residence hall.
More than 150 Emerson students volunteer each year to be orientation leaders and train to be a part of the team that welcomes new students—helping to acclimate them to campus and to Boston. As the class of 2021 arrive at Emerson, teams of orientation leaders will sing and synchronize dances, chant the students’ names, help them unload their car, and escort them to their dorm rooms.
