Comedian and Emerson alumnus Bill Burr shares hilarious stories about the business of stand-up comedy

Emerson College Los Angeles invites the public to a free evening of laughs with comedian, writer and actor Bill Burr ’93, star of the Netflix special I’m Sorry You Feel That Way and the upcoming animated series F Is for Family. Burr will discuss the business of comedy, making it in stand-up, and his road to success. The evening will include clips from Burr’s comedy career and a moderated discussion with ELA Founding Director Kevin Bright ’76.

Who

Hailed as a “comedian’s comedian” and dubbed the “undisputed heavyweight champ of rage-fueled humor” by Rolling Stone, Bill Burr has been working in comedy since the 1990s. Burr does more than 200 stand-up comedy shows each year. He has logged four hour-long stand-up comedy specials and appeared in the films Date Night and The Heat, as well as the fourth and fifth seasons of AMC’s Breaking Bad, among other notable roles. F Is for Family, the new half-hour, animated series based on the comedy of Burr, will debut to all Netflix territories later this year. In addition to his stand-up comedy, Burr also hosts the popular podcast Monday Morning Podcast
