Toys For Tots Program

November 16, 2019 - December 16, 2019
Free

This holiday season marks the ninth annual Emerson College Police Department Toys for Tots program.  The ECPD in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps has collected more than 1,200 new toys for less fortunate children in the greater Boston area.

The Emerson community has been very generous and has made this program very successful.  For those wishing to drop off a new unwrapped toy, there will be a drop off bins at various locations throughout the College or you can drop the toy off at the Emerson College Police Station, 114 Boylston Street (next to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore).

The ECPD will be accepting new unwrapped toys through Monday, December 16. As Always, the ECPD thank you for your support, and happy holidays!

An Iliad unfurls the final weeks of a legendary, decade-long siege where Greek legends mercilessly battled over the fall of Troy. This Obie Award–winning adaptation of Homer’s epic poem places one man on a bare stage with a simple question to ask: Has anything really changed since the Trojan War? Directed by Lisa Peterson and starring Tony Award–winning actor Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story, True Blood, Dallas Buyers Club and This Is Us), An Iliad in a sweeping account of humanity’s unshakable attraction to violence.

This encore performance brings An Iliad back to Boston after six years, giving audiences a chance to discover an astonishing, award-winning play the Boston Globe called “nothing short of mesmerizing.” Described as wrenching, visceral, breathtaking, and formidably powerful by critics, it’s an experience not to be missed.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to tech. Around you, a company of 14 is engaged in the very peculiar — and peculiarly impossible — task of making a new play. You’ll have a seat next to the sound designer as he mixes cues. You’ll eavesdrop on backstage gossip as it happens over headset. You’ll watch the director struggle to contain the uncontainable.

Anne Washburn took notes during her tech rehearsals over the years. 10 out of 12 is a wry and absorbing look at how work forms us and deforms us.

Third Annual Latinx Heritage Month

November 24, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

A group of Resident Assistants is back with the 3rd Annual Latinx Heritage Month Celebration! Though we understand that Latinx Heritage Month started September 15th and ended October 15th, we realize this celebration is too important and special to be contained in only one month. We encourage you to join us in celebrating the Latinx community and its heritage with a night of art, food, and lively conversation.
Hosted at the new and popular, Lion’s Den, the event will exhibit visual art by Latinx artists from our very own, Emerson College. There will also be an allotted time for Latinx artists to perform any piece of art they choose to share and the form can include but is not limited to: spoken word/poetry, songs, dance. And because there could be no Latinx event without a warm belly, we will have food catered from distinct Latin American restaurants in the Boston area.
Our main focus for this celebration is doing our best to give back to the Latinx community. We will be developing a way to fundraise money during this event and donate all the proceeds to an official organization dedicated to helping those struggling with immigration issues at the Mexican/North American border.
