Workshop for Jewish Emersonians with Yavilah McCoy: Deepening Equity and Justice Across Intersections of Racism & Antisemitism

Yavilah is a pioneer of the Jewish diversity and equity movement and is an advocate and mentor for the empowerment of a transglobal community of Jews of Color. Yavilah was voted one of “16 Faith Leaders to Watch” by the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC, is a certified coach for the Auburn Theological Seminary’s Pastoral Coach Training Program and an inaugural fellow of the Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle. Yavilah is a renowned national speaker, educator, and spiritual practitioner. In celebration of the musical traditions passed down to her from three generations of her African-American Jewish family, she is also the writer, producer and performer of the Jewish Gospel theatrical production “The Colors of Water.” Her full bio can be found here. 
 
Join us for a two-day visit from Yavilah! On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 12th she will offer the following workshops:
1) Faculty and staff who actively seek to incorporate inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility & social justice principles in their work: Tuesday at 2pm
2) BIPOC Emersonians: Tuesday at 3pm
3) Jewish Emersonians. Tuesday at 4:30pm
On Wednesday, April 13th, she will present a plenary session from 4:30- 5:30 followed by a small group Q&A/debrief session for anyone who wants to attend.
