The annual Future of the Creative Industry Conference brings together executives, artists, producers, and entrepreneurs from various creative industries to discuss the key themes and dynamics that shape their professions. Through this hybrid experience, students, alumni, faculty and industry experts will gain insight to new ideas, and new connections with current and future leaders.

The 2022 theme is “(dis)enfranchisement: Getting A Seat At The Table.” We will discuss the legacy of exclusion in the creative industry. Rather than dwelling on the negative, we will show how to overcome these systemic obstacles and literally “get a seat at the table” and “be in the room where it happens.” In this bi-coastal, two-date event, we will gather scholars, industry executives, documentarians, community leaders, and creatives to tackle the concept of disenfranchisement through the lens of enfranchisement in the creative industry.
This two-part, hybrid event will take place on Emerson’s campuses— Los Angeles on February 5 and Boston on February 12. In-person attendance will be subject to each city’s COVID-related policies. However, virtual participation will be available to anyone, anywhere.
For Boston events, times listed are in Eastern Standard Time; for Los Angeles events, times listed are in Pacific Standard Time.
