The Black Experience in News Media

Join the Journalism Department, School of Communication, and Alumni Relations for a conversation about being Black in today’s news media industry, led by and for Emerson students and alumni.

Moderated by Journalism major Sharon Boateng ’23, panelists will discuss whether race still plays a major factor in their career as compared to previous generations, how they’ve overcome obstacles, and advice for the next generation of Black professionals looking to make their mark.

This event – as intended by the panelists – will include a broader conversation among all participants, as they share their own perspectives, experiences, questions and lessons.
