renewal collective gathering

September 29 @ 10:45 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Audre Lorde told us, “Women of today are still being called upon to stretch across the gap of male ignorance and to educated men as to our existence  and our needs. This is an old and primary tool of all oppressors to keep the oppressed occupied with the master’s concerns. Now we hear that it is the task of women of Color to educate white  women—in the face of tremendous resistance—as to our existence, our differences, our relative roles in our joint survival. This is a diversion of energies and a tragic repetition of racist patriarchal thought.”
Here are the dates…
LOCATION: 172 Tremont | 4th Floor | Multicultural Center or The Reflection Room
DATES: September 15, September 29, October 13, October 27, December 1, and December 15 (special time 11-1pm)
Audre Lorde also said, “For the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. They may allow us temporarily to beat him at his own  game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change.  And this fact is only threatening to those women who still define the master’s house as their only source of support.”
As you reflect on the words of Audre Lorde, I invite you to do something different and gather with us as we hold our vision to, acknowledge the pervasiveness and impact of all forms of systemic oppression for women and gender-expansive people in Asian, Black, Latina/o, Multi-racial, Native American and Pacific Islander communities and because we believe that no one is disposable, we endeavor to create transformative spaces for individual and collective self-care and restoration.
