Emerson Stage: ‘The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui’

October 18, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

Emerson Stage presents The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Tabori/Beaton and directed by Timothy Douglas.

Using a wide range of parody and pastiche — from Al Capone to Shakespeare’s Richard III and Goethe’s Faust — Brecht creates a comic and darkly condemnatory allegory which warns of the persistence of fascism. Presented with the cooperation of the Heirs of Bertolt Brecht.

Performances will be live and online Thursday, October 15 – Saturday, October 17, 8:00 pm; and Sunday, October 18, 2:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for the Emerson community ($12 general admission), and are available at showtix4u.com/events/emersonstage. Please note: Tickets can only be purchased within a 50-mile radius of the city of Boston.
