Emerson Comedy Workshop

October 30, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Emerson College’s premiere comedy troupe, Emerson Comedy Workshop (ECW), was founded in 1976 by Denis Leary and Eddie Brill, among others. ECW’s main purpose is to explore and perform any and all comedic forms, and to provide experience for all students interested in the comedy field with a special emphasis on sketch and video comedy. Membership is open to all full-time students who complete the audition process and are chosen to be actors, writers, or directors. This past semester, ECW performed at both the National College Comedy Festival at Skidmore College and the Brown University Comedy Conference.

Claims to Fame: Opus Moreschi’s “The Puppy Without Legs”; Isaac Switzer’s “Dino Jokes for Kids”; Eli Lutsky’s “J.D. Salinger is Very Mysterious,” which won an EVVY Award for Outstanding Writing for the Stage.
